Lindsay Purves has an MFA in fiction from  the University of Memphis. She received her BA in English from Trinity University in 2007 and also has studied Italian in Perugia, Italy.  Purves has a forthcoming story on Anderbo.com, was short-listed for the Glimmer Train Short-Story Contest for New Writers in Fall of 2010, and has an interview with Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout in the May 2010 issue of Glimmer Train.  She served as the Senior Nonfiction Editor for The Pinch, an award-winning literary journal.

Purves has lived all over Texas, loves vintage cowboy boots, and relives the disappointment of being a Houston Astros fan every baseball season.  Purves now lives in Austin with her black cat, Stella.  She is working on her MS Library Science and finishing her novel about the life of a modern Texas oilman.
